Very cool work indeed! Especially the lighting - the light and dark spots turned out gorgeous, creating a lot of depth. Tried to paint a similar forest scene like this a while ago and I love how unconstrained your's look and how smoothly everything blends together. Way to go!
Amazing! I'm curious though, how did you create the textures for the tree leafs and the trunks? The leafs were made with a certain kind of brush and then changes in color/hue and opacity and flow? And then the bark... is just uh... technique? xD Like uhm... brush stroke and how you smeared/smudge them together (however, the look is rough so I'm at a loss x..x). I'm just wondering how to achieve such textures, that's all. : )
Yes the leafs are created with a custom brush I've made. I usually keep the opacity at 100% and some color dynamics to create the Hue/light/sat variation.
The tree trunks I painted with a hard round brush (75-100 opacity)at first and then I used my spiderweb/cracks brush to rough it up some, added some moss at some places and then I used smudge tool at some places where the edges felt too hard.
Way longer then something like this usually takes me This was an unfinished painting I started months ago. I messed up the colors the first time, got bored and forgot about it. Reworking the colors took me about 5h or so.
